For ages 12 and up - Intro to Kayaking 2.5 Hour Lessons - $55

Do you want to give whitewater kayaking a try, find out what it’s all about, and lay a good foundation for learning? Have you gotten a start in whitewater and like it, but want to get some good coaching on how to “Do it right?” Maybe you want to fine-tune your ferries and eddy turns, start rolling, or strengthen that fledgling roll! Maybe, you’re to the point where you want to learn to surf a wave or hole or gain enough courage to run the class III rapids of the course!

These lessons are for you!

What to Expect:
At the start of the lesson, we’ll get you geared up. We’ll then talk about your experience and goals for the lesson. We’ll then divide up into small groups according to what we plan to cover. For those who are beginners, as most usually are, we’ll start with learning about the kayaks, how to get in, how to get out, and practice tipping over in a controlled and safe setting. We’ll then practice basic strokes and progress into some very easy current. By the end of the lesson, we may run some simple rapids on the lower part of the course. If you have some experience and skill, we’ll start with where you are at, tune up your technique and build on your skills.

For each session, we’ll often have 3-5 small groups with different instructors according to goals and skill levels.

When Are the Lessons?
Each weekend we have 4 sessions: Morning: 9:00-11:30 and Afternoon: 1:00-3:30 on both Saturday and Sunday.

Students can sign up for 1, 2, 3, or 4 sessions! Each session builds on the previous one.
