Come and paddle with Carole and Andrew Westwood!

Course Schedule

Friday 9AM to 4PM Flatwater and Dry Land Activities

Saturday 10AM to 4PM - Dam release times

Sunday 10AM to 4PM - Dam release times

Participants are encouraged to attend social gathering on-site Friday and Saturday evening. As enthusiasts, the conversation often leads to tales, techniques, and paddling in general along with opportunites to ask questions that relate to the day’s lessons.

Passionate about canoeing, Andrew and Carole have instructed courses for many years across North America. As innovators of new teaching progressions for white-water canoeing skills, Andrew and Carole work together to bring technique videos to a wide audience through their Westwood Outdoors YouTube channel. Over the years they have written dozens of articles for various paddling magazines, have authored a canoeing instructional book/DVD, and have had several types of media coverage both nationally and internationally.

Camping is available at the site Thursday night through the end of the event.

Team River Runner Whitewater Paddling Weekend

Team River Runner’s mission is to provide all veterans and their families an opportunity to find health, healing, community purpose, and new challenges through adventure and adaptive paddle sports!

We welcome Veterans and their families to join us for a day of learning to paddle at our Wausau Whitewater Park. Instructors and safety volunteers are here to help you learn and advance your skills. If this is your first time in a kayak we will teach you the basics, or if you have whitewater experience we will help you advance to paddle your first class 3 rapid.

Not a Veteran? That’s OK! We need plenty of volunteers to help with both on-water and off-water activities.
